Olive Branch Lodge No. 114 A.F. & A.M.
Leesburg, Virginia
Olive
Branch Lodge No. 114 is located at 108 Cornwall Street behind the Courthouse in
Leesburg, Virginia. Olive Branch Lodge No.
114 was originally chartered in 1818.
Anti-Masonic feelings developed in Maryland and spread down to this area
and the lodge was closed in 1828. In
1846 things had improved and the Olive Branch Lodge was issued a new charter in
March of that year. The Lodge had been
in continuous operation since that time.
The
Lodge met in a facility on the third floor of a building on the west side of
South King Street just below Market Street for many years with the present
facility at 108 Cornwall Street NE being purchased in 1973. Having previously paid off the debt for the
purchase of the present building, a dedication of the facility was held in the
spring of 1993. The Grand Lodge of
Virginia convened in Leesburg for this purpose.
Concurrently with this occasion the celebration of the 175th
anniversary since the issuance of the original charter took place with a
banquet.
Olive
Branch Lodge has approximately 120 members.
The Lodge meets on the first Monday of each month at 8:00 PM with dinner
served at 7:00 PM. Visiting Masons are
always welcome to attend the monthly meetings.
