Piedmont Lodge No. 152, A.F. & A.M.
Martinsville, Virginia
A Dispensation was issued on January 29, 1880, to form a Lodge in Martinsville. Those named in the dispensation were all members of Snow Creek Lodge No. 90, which is 15 miles north of Martinsville. The charter was issued on December 14, 1880.
The minutes from 1880 to 1910 have been missing for many years. Therefore, the original meeting place of this Lodge cannot be determined. However, unconfirmed information has the original meeting place in a commercial building on the square in downtown Martinsville. The building was destroyed by fire. A three-story building was erected on the corner of Church and Bridge Streets in downtown Martinsville in 1913. The present Lodge, erected in 1973, is at the corner of Starling Avenue and Spring Street. It was first used for the stated communication in December 1973.
