Chamblissburg Lodge No. 179, A.F. & A.M.

Chamblissburg Lodge No. 179 was under dispensation on February 25, 1875, and chartered on December 15, 1875. Officers were:

 

John W. Fuqua                        Worshipful Master

K.C. Debo                               Senior Warden

Thomas A. Jeter                      Junior Warden.

 

On July 9, 1943, electric lights were installed. On July 7, 1955, a motion was made to dispose of the outside toilet and install one indoors. The same year, a combination wood and coal stove replaced a wood stove.

 

Dues were raised from $6.00 to $7.00. Brother Gen Clement made all of the Lodge furniture out of cedar wood.

 

The temple stands today on the original spot where it first started.
