Eggleston Lodge No. 309, A.F. & A.M.
Eggleston, Virginia
This Lodge was chartered on February 10, 1910. The first Worshipful Master was M. P. Farrier. A new Lodge hall was built in 1957. The name of the Lodge derived from the community in which it is located, Eggleston, Virginia.
Eggleston Loge No. 309 grew after Walkers Creek Lodge No. 205, located about twelve miles from Eggleston, became inactive on October 23, 1936. Some of the members of that Lodge became members of Eggleston Lodge.
The new Lodge hall, constructed in 1957, is used by members of the surrounding communities for social gatherings and, in recent years, its kitchen has been used in the “Eggleston Communities Celebration,” an annual event. The hall is also used as a voting place on election day. The Masonic Lodge building and its members play a vital role in the communities surrounding the village of Eggleston.
