Baum Bach = Tree Brook is what I tell people.

I have hear because of the war, and Americans not liking Germans, that a lot of Baumbach's who came to the US from Germany changed the spelling on the name to Baumback, the last letter "H" was changed to "K" I am not too sure who that small change made any disassociation with Germany. But I have found Americans pronounce it with the "K" anyhow, including myself most of the time.
